John McCain's VP Choice - Palin a Top Choice for Republicans and Conservative Women

If you've been following the political race, no doubt you know that we've been waiting with bated breath to see what John McCain's response would be to the Biden Vice Presidential running mate pick by Obama. Well, today the wait is over, and many people, including myself, found themselves shocked when McCain picked Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska.

Although many conservatives found themselves expecting the pick of Romney or Pawlenty for the Vice Presidential pick, it was my hope that he definitely did not go with Romney. At first I was a bit shocked at the choice of Sarah Palin, but after about 60 seconds of hearing the news, I realized what a great political move it was.

We just watched the Democrats pass over a woman as a Vice Presidential pick, which could have done more to unite the party than any speech that Bill or Hillary Clinton made, although they are both excellent orators. However, it appears that Obama took personal choice and preference into consideration above what was best for the party and passed over Hillary as a VP pick, and I have no doubt that he is regretting that at this point.

John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin for his Vice Presidential running mate was a wise one that has energized the Republican party. Now the republicans are reaching out to women with a strong women pick, and Palin also draws in the votes of the evangelical base, not to mention some of Hillary Clinton's supporters that are not too happy with the democratic party.

Today there have been many rumblings from unhappy democrats that Palin is inexperienced and just a small town woman unfit to be the Vice Presidential nominee. Now I find this interesting from Obama, since he supposedly is the one who is the champion of the small town people.

Actually Palin has plenty of experience, working to reach across the isle to get things done in her state, working on energy concerns, and even commanding the National Guard of Alaska, which she mentioned in her acceptance speech. Is she a Washington insider? No, but isn't that what everyone is looking for? Obama is always making the case for change and getting rid of the insiders in Washington, but now he criticizes the very thing he is always promoting? Double standard? You decide! Does Palin have the experience needed to be the next Vice President? Absolutely.

Today is a great day for republicans and conservative women. We have seen a strong woman nominated to the position of Vice Presidential candidate. A woman that stands strong against abortion, that understands the challenges of working families, and that in a unique way can appeal to the conservative women of today's world.

In my opinion, John McCain has made a winning choice in Sarah Palin. I look forward to watching her move forward the cause of politics for the conservative woman. We'll continue to take a look at her, her accomplishments in the past, and her positions on the issues in the next few days, so check back soon to your inside information source on American politics for the conservative woman.

Politics for the Conservative Woman

As a woman, a republican, a work at home mom, and a wife, I find myself very interested in politics. I have never been one to sit by the sidelines and let things pass me by, and I don't believe that women should be uninformed and passive about politics.

Unfortunately, when it comes to politics for the conservative woman, I have found that there are very few informational resources out there that are specifically geared towards women who are conservative - so, I decided to change that.

It's about time that conservative women become more informed, speak out, and make the country see that our vote is important. I've seen so many democratic women really working to make a difference, and even if I don't agree with some of their politics, I do admire their ability to stand up and be counted as women.

Well, it's time that conservative women do the same. So, here you will find a blog that takes a look at politics from the perspective of the conservative woman. It is written by a conservative woman for conservative women. If you're ready to get a conservative look at politics that relates to you as a woman, then stay tuned as we get started.
